Finn Church Aid
Finn Church Aid (FCA) is a Finnish NGO in development cooperation, humanitarian assistance and advocacy. FCA operates in over twenty countries across four continents, and has over 60 years of experience. A faith-based organisation, we work on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland.
Finn Church Aid specialises in supporting local communities in three priority areas: communities’ right to peace, right to education and right to livelihood. We believe that the best way to achieve positive development and stability is through increased community ownership.
We train religious and traditional leaders in becoming effective peace builders. We integrate local knowledge with international peace processes.
We provide vocational education and second chances especially for women and young people, and build safe and environmentally friendly learning environments. The key focus in FCA’s humanitarian work is education in emergencies.
To ensure sustainable livelihoods for families, we work to support small-scale entrepreneurship among women.
FCA is a member of Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP), a founding member of the ACT Alliance and a long-time partner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland.
We are a member of the Global Education Cluster Working Group, working in close partnership with several UN agencies. FCA also works as an interim secretary of the Network of Religious and Traditional Peacemakers.
